('Wet bed' areas in track are caused by ballast degradation and/or the pumping up of clay fines through the ballast profile).

This system revolves around the uniquely designed, compact, yet robust ballast removal machine, the KGM-2 Ballast Undercutting Machine. This machine forms the basis of a cost effective and efficient process developed and undertaken by Rail Domain for the removal of life-expired ballast under restricted time and track access conditions.
